I'm reattaching my crossbars to my 1986 H18 SX after retrofitting hulls with crossbar reinforcements and performing the suggested fiberglass work. Can someone tell me what the dolphin striker should be tensioned to? Thanks in advance, this fourm has been a wealth of knowlege and very helpful! |

We don't have a measurement for tension. Simply tension to "tight". Bang the rod with your palm to be sure the slack is removed. I would not tension so far as to start bending the beam more. |

A 22 year old front crossbar...I'd say it's a pretty good chance that the striker rod is frozen in the crossbar endcaps, especially if the boat's been used in salt water. Don't be surprised if the nuts don't turn. On the bright side, if it's been ok for all this time, it'll probably still be fine. sm |

Thanks guys, boat has spent it's life in Minnesota so only seen freshwater, and about 3 months per year sailing weather (HA)! Nuts came off like they were brand new. TR |
