Post subject:  Anybody fabricated drink holders on a H18?

I'm looking for a way to have a couple beverage holders on my H18.

I don't have anything now that works. Setting the beverage on the hull just seems to spill more than I drink.

I don't have wings, so unfortunately the wing tramps with built in drink holders isn't an option. :x

Please provide your ideas of what you use.

Thank you in advance.

Bike drink bottle holders, on the boom or tied to the mast

Women are the best drink holders you can get. As long as you go fast they stay quiet

I disagree. :?

Last weekend the wife managed to spill BOTH our drinks during a tack in light wind. And this was on a new tramp...

So we need drink holders....

How do you attach these to the boom? With a bungie? Or do you rivet them on?

Anyone remember the 'Boom Buddy'? It was a small pouch- saddlebag like- that zipped to the boom. It had two drink holders and two small pockets. I had one ten years ago and have been looking for one for a while. I'll bet somone with some sewing skills could make them.

Women and Wifes are two different things. Your women will not spill the beer because they are not your wife. Wifes got nothing to lose, she doesn't care if the beer gets spilled. Sooooo, go get you some women and the problem is solved.

She spilled my beverage before we were married, and continues to do so now that we are married, so I need to find another way.

Could anybody post a pic of their installation on the boom?

Thanks.

Post subject:  drink holders

If your still looking at options, I noticed a "through the tramp" drink holder in the Hobie accessories catalog at Back Yard Boats.

Thanks, but that one looks like I need to remove the tramp, cut a hole, and stich it in. That sounds like a rip and tear waiting to happen. I bought a couple .99 cent drink holders from a truck stop that are supposed to hang on your vehicle door. I'm going to try to hang them from the boom and attach them with velcro. I will update with pictures if it works.

My girlfriend,(refusing to be the drink holder) got a kick out of this post.
On my old 16 I had a pair of holders that were a light flexible plastic pocket that had a washer and a screw in the middle that held it to th top of the rear crossbar castings.A can would suction in and stay even if I forgot it and came about.I diluted a few beers that way, can stayed but filled with water.

Shawn, thanks for the reply, but I can't seem to picture what you are talking about. Did you have a pic?
