Post subject:  shroud anchor pins

In replacing my shroud anchor pins, I am having a hard time finding a socket that fits inside the bearing plate. Any suggestions for where to find a very thin socket?

Good on ya for changing those suckers!
I stick a pair of vice Grips up in there. Grease the new ones up with Lanocote or some other grease/anti-seize so they don't gall.

Happy sailing!

Agreed, use a vice grip to hold the nut. Stick a screwdriver into the hole of the anchor bolt to tighten or use a pair of plyers.

When tightening the new anchor pins, just snug is plenty tight enough.
Too tight and you are unnecessarily stressing the fiberglass.
If you leave them even a little bit loose, it stresses the bolt as the mast "walks" back and forth.
