Hey Matt, Is it possible to still get the "deal" offered way back when the comptip conversion was going on? I have a Hobie 18 that never exercised that option. Thanks. I'm tipless ![]() |

Maybe you can arrange to swap masts w/ someone who has a comptip mast who would like a all-aluminum mast so they can install a spinnacker and/or a square-top mainsail on their H18. A all-aluminum mast is much better in those applications and those as sails are not class legal so they are not thinking of doing any "Hobie Points Regettas". Also, Stephen Cooley/MUST5429 (Denver Colorado) has several masts for sale ... I think he may have a comptip one. I know someone who got one from him recently ..... excellent!!!! Stephen is the Div5 Chairperson, his contact information is in the Hotline, in fact the current Sept/Oct issue has a profile of him in it w/ pic. Just tell him "Harry" sent you and you heard he has a BIG belt buckle .... (he'll understand the joke) Good Luck |

I'm tipless ![]() The "free" deal went away many years ago. Hobie Cat encourages dealers to sell a first-time retrofit Comptip at cost+shipping. It will still set you back several hundred dollars. |
