Post subject: | Trapeze Wire Length |
Can anyone tel me how long the H18 trapeze wires should be? I've checked the wire guide which says they should be 19' or 19' 5" for the SX. This seems very long to me. I've tried to measure the wires on my boat but without tipping her over I'm finding it tough. The problem I have is that although I suspect my wires are shorter than 19' they feel too long when out on the wing. I know that you should be quite flat but these things make it feel as though you will fall off any second. I have a H17 with adjustable trapeze set up and wanted to have the same adjustment on the H18 to cater for the little crew members as well as the bigger ballast. Any advice on wire lengths would be useful. Cheers, Jon |

Simply speaking... adjust the wires so that the handle is 32" up from the rail you are sitting on. This is the standard we use. It is the height of the handle that is critical in lifting your weight to get out and then being able to reach it and lift again to get back in. Too low a handle and you can not properly lift. To high and you can't reach it when properly trapped out. |

Thanks for the quick reply. When I get to the boat at the weekend I'll check to see what adjustment is required. Thanks for the support |
