Post subject:  My new H-18

I bought an 84 Magnum in October, and I finally got some decent weather to try it out this month. Man, it is fast! I have never sailed before, but I always thought I would like it, and I do! I've had it out three times. The first two went just like it shows on the "Hobie' video. The third time I capsized, and turtled immediately, my biggest worry. I'm over that, now that I lost my cherry. It was pretty easy to right.
My question is, where can I find some detailed information about how to thread that mainsheet line through all those pulleys that attach to the boom, and the pulley that attaches to the rear crossmember? I don't think mine is correct. I don't know how to do the outhaul, or the mast rotator either.
My downhaul is kinda rinky- dink too. My boat has a little rope with a small pulley, and a cleat in the tack. The one I saw in the video had blocks. I'm assuming that mine is standard, and the one I saw in the video was an upgrade?
With all that pocket in my mainsail, it's no wonder my boat was so fast. I need to figure out how to tighten it up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jeff

A new believer!

Go here and download the H18 assembly manual to get started.

Go here for a diagram of how to reeve old style the main blocks.

Go here for a diagram of reeving the new blocks (page 25 of the Hobie catalog).

Go here and see the second picture down for the proper way to set up the traveler.
