How in the heck did the 18 get the number of 71. Since I sail one up the # would be around 69. There is no way this boat will ever sail to that number. Sucks my 18 is left to sit on the beach while I race on my 16( 73.7 one up / much more reasonable number. ).Did the powers that be realize that they messed up with the 18s number so when they when they came out with the SX they added a taller mast added a spin and kept the same number.

Awe, come on man! I've got to sail mine to a 66.8 number. The SX number is a killer. If I could run based on that number I would be in heaven. I'm sure the H18 wasn't ever campaigned solo so there will never be a good number for that. Apparently at some time there were some fast 18 racers that established the number. All you need is a small kid to ride with you on the 18 and you could kill. I think minimum weight is 320# for the 18. As thin as you are a skinny teenager would work. You and I might be weight competitive on a 18, I'm at 180 these days.

Good luck at the Duck Cup. Keep the pointy end up!

PN is 71.4 Difficult to do but if I refinish my hulls and get new sails........

PN to PHRF translates to 99 in Michigan

A Portsmouth # of 71.4 translates into a PHRF of 99 ?!?!?
Cheez, I also race on a J109 with a PHRF of 77, against a Melges 24 with a PHRF of 96.
I taking out my H18 and clean their clocks on corrected time.
