Post subject:  Diamond wire Tension H18 Standard

:mrgreen: Replacing your Diamond wire on your Standard Hobie 18. This seem to be a topic of confusion, Has anyone got any good tips on doing this and making sure it's been done properly. Cheers to all that offer Help. :?

I use to use... Looser for light crews (minimum crew weight 285 or less). Up to where you can pull them (both) in to touch the mast 18" above the lower bolt. This allows mast bend to flatten the rig. Tighter as the crew weight goes up. Less mast bend, more sail power.

H18 performance manual gives you the specs for this. Looser for less power, tighter for more

:mrgreen: Thank you for your Comments Matt and ncmbm, My crew weight is 154 kg,I hope you were taking in pounds Matt,"Grin" How far from the Mast Rotator up, should my Diamonds touch with Total weight of 154Kg or 339.5 Pound. Or Measured from the base of the Mast, what ever is easier, Thanks Guys for all your help and support. :mrgreen:
