I heard that there was a motor mount available for a Hobie 18. Does anybody know how to locate one?

Thanks,

-Alex

I believe its called a Cheeta motor mount.

Occasionally one pops up on E-Bay, also watch http://www.Thebeachcats.com.

This was a good place to post your question ... you may get a reply from someone that has one or knows where to find one.

Good Luck

You might need one to keep up with Cooley at HAVAMEGA (Lake Havasu) in November :D

You can buy them from Murray's or the Catsailor website. Because I was on a month's vacation in Florida, I bought mine directly from the manufacturer, then added a 2 hp Honda engine and it's been the best option I've ever added. When we are in Florida it allows me to get under bridges and get to the Gulf easily. When we're in New York, it's a safety feature that allows you to go out on those 4 knot days and never worry about becoming becalmed six miles away from home.

They are manufactured somewhere around West Palm or Fort Lauderdale and the owner sells Real Estate now. You'll find him easily, and he really is a nice guy that is really helpful. Be careful with the installation though, and think it through before you start drilling holes because it's easy to turn your rear crossbar into swiss cheese.

Good luck.

Wyatt
