Hi, Can anyone provide guidence on how well a H18 handles with 500 lbs worth of passengers? How would it compare to a H16 or Getaway? Recreational sailing only, with jib and varying wind conditions. Concerned about nose dive. Comments welcome. Jeff in Vt. |

All I can say is 500 lbs. of passengers on an H16 wouldn't work at all. 500lbs. total weight (me and 2 big friends) = terrible performance. |

We say "up to six" passengers on the Getaway. The 16 is MAXED out with 3-4 for sure. The 18 has similar volume to the Getaway, so similar loads are possible. This completely disregards actual performance possibilities. Lighter air and flat water for the heavier loads would be best. |

I own a H-18 and race with 400 Plus lbs on it on a regular basis. I have had my wife, two daughters and two of their friends on board for a cruise across the lake. It dosn't move fast but it will move. |
