I TRIED TO FOLLOW MATT'S ADVICE ON USING A 5 FT 6 IN PIECE OF SHOCK CORD FOR A "JIBSHEET TANGLE PREVENTER AND THE PIECE WAS ABOUT 2 FOOT SHORT. IS THERE A SPECIAL BRAND OF CORD. I USES A PIECE FROM WEST MARINE AND IT WOULD NOT REACH FROM STRICKER TO SPREADERS AND BACK DOWN

Whoa there big guy! The shock cord should go from striker on lets say port hull, up to where the diamond wires attach at the turnbuckles on the mast (not the spreaders). Run the bungee from the aft side of the mast around the front of the mast and back towards the aft through the opposite turnbuckle and finally down to the striker bar on the starboard hull. The bungee should only go to the diamond wire turnbuckles, not the spreaders. Hope this helps. :D
