I found a local guy who is selling an SX Mylar main in perfect condition and really cheap. I know the SX has a longer mast which means the sail is longer. Would it be possible to use this sail on my SE? Thanks, Cape Coral, FL. ~John |

in a word, NO. If it is really in excellent condition, and If it is really cheap, buy it, take a bunch of High Resolution pictures and put it on E-Bay. SX Sails in good shape are getting pretty rare. Most guys that have SX rigs have had to go aftermarket. Stephen |

Yup..... I went aftermarket.... Normally I wouldn't care a bit... even like the squaretop pentex.... but the nationals are in my back yard this year.... Anyway... I'd say before you sell the thing... rig it up on your boat and give it a whirl. The SX mast is about 18 inches longer.... so it'd probably be down on your tramp... blocks won't work, etc, etc.... But if it's cheap, you could sell on the bay, or even have it cut at the foot to fit your boat ? |
