I am getting ready to repair a soft spot on my 18' 1981 starboard hull just forward of the rear crossbar. The soft spot is about 20" by 6" right along the crown. What size drill bits are best for the breather holes and for the injection hole? Is Git Rot the epoxy of choice? What would be a appropriate distance between breather holes? Any other input that might save me from screwing up? Thanks, |

If you have not read it... here is the delam FAQ: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1156 The breather holes are as small as possible. You are venting air. Spacing is about 3-4 inches apart. Injection hole to match tip in resin applicator. I think Git-Rot is great. Easy to use, laminates and stays a little pliable so the deck doesn't crack under load. |
