I've mentioned that I have a new 18sx. The previous owner had removed the diamond logo and had put his wife's name on the side of the hulls.

I know it's a long shot, but by any chance does any one or dealer have two of these diamond logo decals from the 1999/2000 era? I'd really like to replace them with the original ones.

Thanks,

Adam

We only have current colors - the older Purple diamonds we no longer offer - sorry.

Current colors meaning red diamond or turquoise ? I bought a set of turquoise last year but don“t know if they are still available.

Anyone have a picture of what the turquoise looks like? This color might work work on my boat.

Thanks,

Adam

Adam,
There's a guy in our division that had some custom made for his boat after he had to do a major repair. Paging... Dwight916, Dwight916, pick up the white courtesy phone.

Answering Jeremy's page.....

Jeremy is right - When I did a hull replacement for my Hobie 20 I had a local graphics shop re-do matching graphics including a set of Hobie Diamonds.
Jerry Schell of JLS Design and Graphics did the work - including the Hobie Diamond - seen here: http://www.jlsdesignandgraphics.com/vin ... ducts.html
Jerry made two and replaced the original one so they would both match and keep the boat look the same.

Jerry also did some lettering work this year for Jordan's Hobie 16.

Matt Miller was kind enough to send the "official" file.

Jeremy and Dwight that's a really good idea. I actually have an aunt that does vinal sinage down in SLO and will be through sac on her way to tahoe in two weeks. I think I might be able to make this work. Matt Miller would you mind emailing me the file too?

Does any one have a picture of what the 1999/2000 orional diamonds looked like, so I can try to get close on my boat.

Thanks so much,

Adam

The diamond logo decals are much more that just die-cut vinyl.

Here's a blue one:

A closer look shows that it is printed on the vinyl before die cutting.

Printing gives it the 3-D look.

That one is the turquoise I was referring to. I would not fool around with immitations if I were you and just get what is available. I'm pretty sure the Turquoise is still available and would go well with your boat.

Another thing you might want to consider is that in time those colors will probably be available again. Take the red for example, once extint from previous years (it had to be custom made) is now once again the current color decal.

The Hobie diamonds are by far and away the most attractive decals ever placed on hulls, and I would imagine Hobie is not thinking about replacing it for the time being, though of course I might be wrong in my assumption.

I did get a red maroon diamond made when red ones were not available from the factory (as they are now).
The Diamonds Jerry did are a printed vinyl with a white background but Jerry would have made any color I specified.
Yes, it does cost more than the standard ones but the quality is as good or better.
I have been happy with the graphics work Jerry has done for my Hobies.
