Parts for Magnum wings?

Sure it is a Magnum and not SX? Here is a FAQ on the difference: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2606

There are only attachment hardware parts... same as the SX wings. Look in the parts catalog in the H18 diagrams page 67.

Tramp covers are no longer offered for the Magnum wings.

Definitely Magnum wings. They are used and I just want to make sure if I get them I will install them correctly.

Why the change in wing design?

My guess was that the change in wing style was partly due to shipping costs. The magnum wings are welded and very big to ship. The SX wings were shipped flat (UPS maybe) and needed some assembly by the dealer. Matt, please correct me if my guess is incorrect.

Hobie Nick, In the spring when I put my new (used) set on my boat I can offer some assistance.

I ended up getting the set of Magnum wings from Dan. They are in great shape. I can't wait to put them on in the Spring. It seems pretty straight forward now that I have seen them up close.

Why the change?

DVL has the right idea... shipping was a big issue.

In addition, the Magnum wings did not extend aft of the rear crossbar. When reaching, they make the 18 feel a bit like a 16. The wings allow you to power up more and that drives the bows deeper. Since you can not get all the way aft, the bows drive down harder.

The SX wings allow you to get really far aft.
