I just purchased a 88' H18 SE with magnum wings. Great step up from my '78 H16. The guy I bought it from had taken the wings off because he didn't like them. I can't find the exact way to "bolt" these back down. I have some hardware but I'm looking for a good guide to installation. Thanks for any help you can give me. Stan |

SX wings install a little differently. I just put my wings back on so it is fresh in my mind. Are the slugs in the tramp track, front and rear? If not they need to be placed in there. Tramp may need to be removed. If they are in the track they may have slid out to the end caps. A small piece of wire is the easiest thing to slide them back into place. Are the brackets bolted on at each end cap? If not they need to be installed. You should have 4 studs with 2 nuts and washers on each. These studs have an allen head on one end, this end goes out. You thread the stud into the slug until it bottoms out and then tighten one nut down on the crossbar to lock it in place. One washer goes on each side of the wing arm and the second nut goes on snuggly but not tight as to not restrict the movement of the wing. There should also be a C shaped bracket, it goes on the starboard side of the rear crossbar. Hope this helps I set the studs loosely and fit the wings, then I tighten it all down. |
