| Is there an improved batten clip or devise to keep battens tight without having to check and tighten every time on the main sail? | |

| Depends on how old the ones you have are. The current cap (black) with a "V" jam holds them tight if routed correctly through the "V". It only holds load in one direction. | |

| The trick I've always used is to take the tail of the batten tie line and tuck it behind one of the tensioned lines after setting it in the V-cleat so that the tail is wedged between one of the tensioned lines and the batten cap. This keeps the line locked in the V-cleat. Another thing you can do is to put an overhand knot (or a series of overhand knots) in the line so that when you set the line in the V-cleat, the knot prevents it from slipping back. sm | |
