I'm looking for a downhaul. Does anyone know where I can find one in stock, I'm up for a used one so if someone knows where I could source one I'd appriciate it. I'm not knowledgeable enough yet to make one up unless I see a picture. Let me know if anyone can help me out. . .thanks. |

http://www.murrays.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MS&Product_Code=07-2087&Category_Code= Try this. It is a 5:1 class legal downhaul for the H18. Are you wanting a power downhaul? Or are you missing the line that comes with the stock system? |

I have one on order at Murray's, but they are on backorder. They said that hobie doesn't really tell them when they get what, so they are not sure when they will get the parts in. .. I don't have anything as far as downhaul right now, got the boat for free on craigslist . . def a score, but was missing some parts. I'm almost there now. . . I am not familiar with the whole set up so I'm doing alot of research. Downhaul and a few misc things and I should be able to set sail. The down haul has been my big hold up, but I finally got the money together. |

The stock downhaul is only the line. There are no seperate blocks. The line goes through the sail tack grommet through a block that is mounted on the mast. Then goes back through the grommett and through a cleat on the other side of the mast. Though I dont use the cleat, never really worked for me. This will get you on the water till you receive your power downhaul. |

I think the block on my mast is not there anymore. I'm thinking because he had a power down haul. . .is this right? There seems to be alot of upgrades on the boat. . .but a bunch of missing parts. The downhaul would eliminate the use of the block . . . I think. Does this sound correct or will I need to replace the block. |

You wont need to replace the block - its not really a full block its more of two small roller posts riveted to the mast. It gives a 2:1 pull. If you really want to get on the water you could just figure a way to tie down the grommet of the sail. |
