I will be fiberglass reinforcing the interior walls of the hulls where the anchor plates attach near the crossbars.

1. Should I remove the hulls and place them on their sides so the resin won't run down the walls?

2. Apply cloth, mat or both?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks,

1. Yes. Putting the hulls on their sides will make laying the fiberglass much easier.

2. I'd use cloth, not mat.

Working through the porthole can be messy and a bit of a pain. Be sure to mask off the hull around the porthole so you don't drip resin all over the place. I also suggest investing in a box of disposable latex gloves.

If you can get the glass to wrap around the corner to connect the hull to the deck, it's a good thing to do. You'll probably have to make a fillet in the corner though to get the glass around the curve.
