I'm looking to get another jib as blew mine apart in some heavy air. Mine was old, so I new this was coming, just didn't want it to go so I wouldn't have to replace it. So do I buy used or save up and buy new? Seems I can get a used one reasonable, but who knows if it will last. Your thoughts, thanks. |

There's nothing like a new sail. If you can afford it get a new sail. New sails point higher, sail faster and heal less. Buy a new sail. Man I want new sails for my big boat, but a cheap set cost about about 4x my Hobie. New sails are like magic. Geoff |

Unless you're racing, probably no real need to go new. Unfortunately, if you go for a used sail, you really won't know how blown out it is untill you've already bought it and rigged it for the first time. Best bet would be to buy a used sail from a racer that's only a couple years old. If you plan to race, then definitely save for the new sail. sm |

Thanks guys. I'm not interested in racing, although I'd love to crew with someone on their boat, but not on mine. I feel like I don't have enough time to really invest into the sport right now in my life. Does anyone know of someone with a jib for sale? ? ? |
