I'm looking to get another jib as blew mine apart in some heavy air. Mine was old, so I new this was coming, just didn't want it to go so I wouldn't have to replace it. So do I buy used or save up and buy new? Seems I can get a used one reasonable, but who knows if it will last.

Your thoughts, thanks.

There's nothing like a new sail. If you can afford it get a new sail. New sails point higher, sail faster and heal less. Buy a new sail.

Man I want new sails for my big boat, but a cheap set cost about about 4x my Hobie.

New sails are like magic.

Unless you're racing, probably no real need to go new. Unfortunately, if you go for a used sail, you really won't know how blown out it is untill you've already bought it and rigged it for the first time. Best bet would be to buy a used sail from a racer that's only a couple years old.

If you plan to race, then definitely save for the new sail.

Thanks guys. I'm not interested in racing, although I'd love to crew with someone on their boat, but not on mine. I feel like I don't have enough time to really invest into the sport right now in my life.

Does anyone know of someone with a jib for sale? ? ?
