Post subject: | H18 tramp track rivits |
I've got a quick question for some of you knowledgable H18 guys out there. Are the Rivits holding the tramp track to the hull anything special? Are they aluminum or monel? I'm in the midst of building my cruising frankenhobie based on Gary Dierking's Tamanu outrigger canoe hulls and H18 fro everything else. My 18 is an 81 model that's servicable but heavy as it's the solid glass one. Anyhow, I'm thinking of using the tramp tracks off the H18 on my frankenhobie but want to make sure I can put my 18 back together without too much hassle. Alternately, does anyone have any junked hulls they could pull off the tramp tracks and sell me those pieces? I can't really imagine buying new ones as the whole (servicable) 18 cost me 600 bucks. Any ideas? |

I just got off the phone with Murrays and I can get the rivits to reinstall the tramp track if I did pull it off of there. However, I'd prefer to not tear up my hulls to scrounge the part unless I needed to. At 150+ bucks a track, I'm sure not going to buy new ones. |
