Major bummer. Had you done any of the suggested hull reinforcements - upgraded anchor bars, fiberglass patch inside hull? sm |

O man, so sorry that happened. Dittos on SRM's question. Also, was the hull a redline hull? Mine is an '84 but the second month of that production run and for some reason it did not have the telltale redline. |

There's still a set (or two) of the new hulls available . . . |

It had the anchor plates but I did not know about any hull reinforcement technics. The foam looks dark yellow not red so I dont think it was a redline boat I tapped the hulls all over even now there does not appear to be a soft spot. I still say that was one of the best boats I have owned every trip out was better then the last even this day before it snapped I was very impressed with the way it cut thru the surf. Questions Can someone clarify the years involved with this hull problem as 3 people have told me 84-88? I thought it was 86-88? I dont care about the weight would a 82 set of hull be stronger? Where is the H18 hull reinforcement info at on the forum? |

No difinitive instructions for the reinforcement have been made, but plenty of helpfull discussion. Here is one search result: http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=35609&p=144261&hilit=18+reinforcement#p144261 A 1982 model should be solid. |

Look on the bright side - you now have an outrigger. |
