hi to all the 18 of a friend of mine after every sail take a lot of water from the sx hull and quite from the right one... what are in the 18s the most common point of water leaking? thanx a lot and sorry my english max |

As I recall, the top of the dagger wells is a good place to look. Older boats may also leak at the lower part of the wells. Check the bottoms for severe wear. You can do a pretty simple test as shown in our FAQ area: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=169 |

Look for cracks under the crossbars, front and rear. The port hole covers are prone to leak also. Dagger wells will leak too. |

Also check the hull to deck seam. I have fixed many Hobies leaking at the seams. ![]() |

More... all the thru hull fasteners are worth a look. I have found significant through hull voids in shroud anchor bolt holes and main beam bolt holes. Use the soapy water and air pressure test to find these easily. |
