Post subject:  What does a cheek block on the front crossbar endcap do?

What does this do? (pull out the jib in light air?)
How do you rig it?

Looks like perhaps an attemp at a barberhauler system (are there any additional cleats too?). Or maybe a fairlead for the daggerboard bungee? Boom vang system? Alternate fairlead for the crew's trapeeze wire? Could be a lot of things.

Definitely not stock.
