Hi All,

A few interesting facts about 2014 Hobie 18s. Overall we had 82 boats racing this year in our (HCA) organized events (at least that is the information captured).

There were 30 HCA Regattas where Hobie 18s attended this year.

Division 3 has the most active 18s with 21 racing boats this year.
Followed closely by:
Division 4 with 17
Division 2 with 15
Division 14 with 11
Division 11 with 4
Division 5 with 4

The Regattas with the largest 18s sailing were:
Pinata Regatta with 13 Div 2
Wet and Wild with 11 Div 3
Avila Beach with 9 Div 3
San Diego Classic with 8 Div 2
Jericho Classic with 8 Div 4
Harrison Hot Springs with 8 Div 4
Mid Americas with 8 Div 14
Splash with 7 Div 4

Great year everyone and lets start thinking about 2015! Congratulations to Denny Osburn for taking the top HCA ranking title for 2014 and Jim Sohn for Winning the North American Championship in Oregon this year.

Welcome to the group Bob, we just got another H18 racer in our fleet for DIV 3 too. Have you raced it before?

No, all my previous racing experience is with monohulls. I'll be losing a lot of races, but will enjoy the learning.

I just sold one of my 18s to another convert from Monohulls, so you may not be as far back as you think. Either way you're going faster! Try and make it down to our Hobie Days regatta in April.

Will definitely try to make the regatta in April. I definitely have noticed the speed difference. I'll say that it was unsettling at first, but I'm starting to become more comfortable with the speed.

Hello ramstadt

Are you coming to Hobie Days? There will be a number of H18 at this event.

Hope to see you there.
