Rough morning. Big waves and not enough wind to get through them led to capsize in the surf. Thankfully mast intact but both starboard wing legs snapped. Can't believe how expensive the are to replace (almost $300 each!) so thought I'd first ask if anyone thought they can be welded? The break in both legs is fairly clean and closer to seating area - about 6 inches of tube left extending from seating area. Any way a tig weld would be able to repair it?

It shouldn't be a problem to weld the legs, or so I've been told. It seems the tempered aluminum is just the oval portion of the seat itself. I'm not sure where you found new legs, I had heard that hobie was completely out of replacements.

Another potential option would be to reinforce the break by using either an internal or external sleeve.
