| Post subject: | Spinnaker Class Race |
Ok, here is a plan to try and start something up. The Daytona Hobie Fleet is having their annual Summer Sizzler at Daytona Beach, Fl. on June 25, 26th. We are going to try and have a Hobie 18 Spinnaker Class for this event. We currently have 3 spinnaker 18's committed to do this race. It will be a chance to try out these new spinnakers and see how some "class" racing might go. If you have a spinnaker for your Hobie 18 please try and come to this race. If you have an SX with a spinnaker, we will include you in our class. If you have any old spinnaker that you can run, we will include you in the class. The point is we do not want to get bogged down with spinnaker dimensions at this point. Or worry about SX versus SE. Just a group of us sailing as if we were an F18 class. So dust off those old boats and get them to Florida in June. |

This is going to be one crash course in spin racing. I just hope I get at least one day out to practice with this thing before that weekend. I need to get to making my snuffer |
