I am setting up seperate spin halyard and tac line. Does anyone know the placement for the cam cleat on the mast. Height up the mast, etc. thanks |

My spin halyard cleats at the front crossbar, not on the mast. Dan Delave runs his from the mast, pm him for measurements. He's on a Tiger so his set-up would be similar to what your doing. |

On my H-18 I put a cam-cleat on the front crossbar, about 3"-4" from the mast. I suppose you could mount the haylard on one side and the tack line on the other. (I have a end pole snuffer). |

I too run an end pole snuffer, so no tack lines. My retrieval line runs under the crossbar and up thru the lacing. You may want to consider running the tack line under instead of over the bar. It would keep it away from your jib sheets. |

On our SX we use a Spinlock and it is mounted to the front of the mast about three feet up. We mounted it here so that regardless of which jibe we are on, the cleat is readily accessible. I use a mid pole snuffer so I have a tack line. It runs along the spin pole and under the front crossbar coming out on the starboard side between the tramp and the hull. This allows my crew to pull the tack line on approach to the mark with out getting off the wire. |

Height up the mast, etc. thanks We put a swivel cleat on the mast of our Tiger. 37" from the base of the mast to the center of the swivel cleat mounting bracket. We went one size bigger than the small Harken swivel cleat that is used in downhaul applications, on advice from a hot shot. The cleat is mounted on the right hand side of the mast, just in front of the widest point. This set up works very well. The crew stands up for the set after prefeeding the tack from the wire as we approach A. |
