Any recommendations for a wind indicator for the Hobie 18? I used to sail with a buddy that had a Hobie 16 and he had the Telo Cat Wind Vane that was great but it does not appear this will work.

Telocat works well and can be installed on a Hobie 18. You just need to buy the adapter to allow it to be installed on the furler drum.

I also recommend drilling a small hole at the top of the arm of the Telocat so you can install a cotter pin/split ring. This will keep the unit from accidentally dropping out of the retaining bracket and getting lost.

Thank you srm. Is the adapter you are referring to the Hobie furler adapter CM7705?

Now that I have added a spinnaker, I had to remove my beloved Telocat, with split ring.

This has resulted in a large debate:
Which is better? 4 track tape or 8 track tape....

We attach about 8" to each bridle wire.
