Where does the jib halyard tie off on a Hobie 18? I just got an 18 mast for my 17... and I can't figure it out! Can someone please post pics? Thanks! -Dave |

The entire halyard system stays within the zippered jib luff. You hoist and zip the luff closed as you go. As the sail is fully hoisted you use a 1 1/2 foot long piece of line tied to the tack shackle to run up to the wire halyard and back down to tension the luff. You untie the halyard itself and store away. |

To add to that, I use a pair of sister clips to avoid having to untie the halyard each time. |

Same on the Hobie-made 17 "Sport" jib. The halyards are the same. Yours may not have been stock? |
