Post subject:  hull dimples from trailer roller... best fix technique?

Hi all

I just found that the 86 Magnum I bought has dimples in the hull resulting from the boat being tied down on the rollers, and the rollers dont exactly fit in any case.

(cant get img to work, have to just post the links)

whats the best method for this repair? Can I sand it, drill some holes in it, and just lay in new filler and glass, then fair it in, then gelcoat? Or do I need to actually remove this dimpled area and build it in somehow?

thanks

Ben

I would think filled them in, then ground down to apply new fiberglass, you would be okay. You would need some experiance with fiberglass, and prob want to flip the hulls upside down to do the work. i would then switch over to "Cradles", rather than the rollers as seen in my pic. Image. they are made from the blue pvc pipe and are covered elwhere on this site.
