Hi, I am considering to buy this boat, but would like some input from you folks about the severity of this damage. The seller says that a tree fell on it. Please see these pictures and let me know what you think. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X0qEGb ... drive_link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WvyTnu ... drive_link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X2Ziif ... drive_link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X1_mM9 ... drive_link more zoomed out picture: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Cp-Uua ... sp=sharing Thanks Greg |

How much experience do you have with fiberglass repair? Looks like the fiberglass was fractured, so you would need to grind out the damage and then build it back up. If you can do the work yourself, it might be worth it. If you have to pay someone to do it, you’ll probably end up spending more than the boat is worth. sm |

I am pretty good with fiberglass repair. However, if this is the load bearing joint between the hull and the crossbeam, that might be more fiberglass repair than I'm bargaining for. I assume there is an awful lot of stress in that area where the crossbeam meets the hull. I am hoping that these cracks are not integral to that joint, but their location suggests they probably are. I have not gone to visit the boat yet in person (approximately 4 hours drive from here), so I'm going by these pictures only. Does it look like that damage is compromising the integrity of the crossbeam to hull joint? Or is that just cosmetic? |

I am trying to get a sense of whether this damage is impacting the front crossbeam to hull connection, or just the front wing connection. Either way I'm looking at some repair. I feel like a damaged wing connection would be much less serious than a damaged crossbeam connection. |

The wings don’t connect directly to the hull in any way. They are attached to the crossbars. The pictures show that the wings are pivoted inwards for storage. The crossbar load is going to be highest at the inner and outer edges of the hulls - where the bolts connect. sm |
