Matt, that comes up as the tang for the 21 sport cruiser. Would that work for my 18? |

thanks Matt. BTW others are telling me to use a Bail instead in my Spin thread. What is a Bail and do you have any idea what they are talking about?Could you also suggest a good place to order parts excluding the place in Myrtle Beach and also Woodbrige Va. I am in Wrightsville Beach, NC. |

A bale is a strap / rod of stainless bent into a large loop or hoop. The spin halyard would be lead to a turning block above the hoop and the line then leads down through the hoop. That way it can swing left or right to the spin head whan hoisted and helps to allow the mast to stay rotated properly by not pulling on the center point. Do you need that? No. We don't have bales for this use either. |

Genmar, my bail is just dyneema line. Drilled a hole thru the sailtrack and comptip right where it clips on. Tie a knot and its done. My turn block sits on this bail and is supported by a line tied to the tang. I can get pics if you would like or come to Hattaras in August for the race and see it yourself. You could also come to Myrtle and check it out one weekend. |

What race is in August? My main concern was is attaching something to the comptip, but i guess it is not a problem. Would love to see your set up so maybe I will take a ride down to MB. Was your tang 24" above the shroud tang? |

Genmar, Camp Hatteras race is August 18 & 19. Since Div 9 pulled out of Hobie sanctioned racing the schedule is available at emsa-sailing.org. There are a couple more races this fall you may be interested in. I plan on Catfest in Charlotte and Outback Cup in Columbia, SC. My boat is still on the beach so can't measure anytime soon. Most likely will go get it this weekend so I have plenty of time to tune it. |
