Ok guys and or gals I am seeking your wealth of knowledge again.I came across a new H20 7:1 main block system .Any reason you know of that this wouldnt work on my 18.Everything looks just a little different as far as the becket being offset on the base block.It calls for 1/2 " line but I will probably reave it with 3/8 .Any input would be greatly appreciated.thnx shawn 82 H18 #8211 DIV 3 |

It should work fine. If you decide to go to a square top main you will probably want an 8:1 purchase as a minimum. Harken makes a low profile ratchet block set up for the 8:1 that is very popular. |

so shawn.. we gonna see this boat of yours this summer in Canada, 18 North Americans, end of August... If you're in sacramento... we're just a few hours north...

Try Yale - Conception @ 5/16" dia. It runs large so it will feel like 3/8" line. Very light and very soft, it is easy on the hands , approximently 1/2 the price of "Maffolli". I think I paided approx $1.03/ft at APS last year, if not APS then it was LayLine. I'm very pleased with the line, this year I'll be upgrading my P-19 mainsheet stack to the same line also You may wish to try the 1/4" for your jibsheet, the jib flys better in lighter airs due to less physical "line wieght" pulling down on the jib itself. My crew likes the "feel" of the line also. Harry |
