Anybody out there with SX or Magnum wings have cup holders mounted to them? Tom H18M Windraider |

I too would lilke to find a way to do this. Or even just a water bottle holder for those pop bottle sized water bottles. |

Maybe you could attach a bike waterbottle holder to one of the wing supports. |

I was thinking about adding swivel type removable drink holders to the mast end of my boom. shouldn't get in the way of anything other than maybe my head when passing under it, but being so for forward it shouldn't get in the way. it wouldn't be too close to where you actually sit but hey, its better than no drink holder. ![]() |

Hands-free drinking without spilling, and protection from unexpected jibes. ![]() |

I added a bicycle water bottle to the wife's treadmill by using a rubber coated pipe clamps from McMaster Carr. About 1 1/2" dia pipe. No holes to drill. I think that might be a good option for adding a bottle to the wings. Edit; clamps are available in aluminum & stainless, Search for Sure Grip Cushioned Metal Loop Straps on McMaster Carr website. |

Hello All... couple points on this thread.... 1 I wouldn’t add weight to the boom... you don’t need extra mass swinging. 2 wings can have cup holders cut and sewn into the wing seats. I think these are in the Hobie catalogue 3 I have attached swiveling cup holders ($10 at discount marine) on my stays with elec ties and a couple of loops of elec tape. They do slide down every now and again but can be easily slid up. |

Hobie used to sell cup holders for the wings. I belive you just cut out the hole and glued them in place. Not sure if they're still available. I currently use bike bottle holders on my 17. They're the velcro kind. I just connect them to the aft portion of the wing so they're out of the way. The first time using them, I mounted them to the boom, but I lost the bottles when they shot out during my first few jibes. On the 18, I've always just stored water bottles tied to a tether inside the hull. sm |
