Post subject:  Pedal Squeaks

The right pedal of one of my Hobie Eclipses originally had a squeak on the right side pedal, but it gradually went away with use; however, at this time I also noticed that the bolt for it began to back out. I tightened it (along with the other ones), but the squeak has returned. Is there any way to lubricate the pedal hinges? Do I need to remove the bolt and spray lubricant inside or can I just try coating the hinges externally?
Thanks for any help.

My peddles weren't squeaky when new, but very stiff. A generous dose of WD-40 loosened them up. Still no squeaks!

Enjoy!

I did have a squeak in my outback mirage drive pedals and I used Inox spray on them and also on the cables. Inox (or a lanolin lube) I find is a better lubricant than WD40, as WD40 will wash away any grease etc that is already there. Inox has fixed the squeak in my mirage drive. WD40 may be ok for a quick fix.

I sprayed some lithium grease in/around the hinging peddle... last time out, no squeaks. :)
Thanks.
