Post subject:  Storage Options?

Hi all! I recently purchased a Mirage Eclipse and am curious if anyone has found a good storage solution for outdoors? i was Thinking about buying a rack to hang on my garage, but most of the racks for SUPs aren’t large enough as the Eclipse is wider. Also, are you covering your boards or are they ok in the elements during the summer? I’d assume it would be ok seeing it’s fiberglass, but the rubber may dry out. Any thoughts/recommendations?

Personally, I would not leave the board out in the sun unprotected. The clear coating may/will bubble up from the heat. (I believe Hobie mentions this somewhere).

I am trying to figure out a rack as well- currently I use Railblaza SUP straps to hang the board-(added some minor padding between the board and straps) no apparent issues so far.

UV rays can be very damaging to boards, so I wouldn't leave it out exposed. I'd cover it at least, you can buy "sock" for SUP's. I leave mine in the garage, or under the house.
