| Post subject: | Extra Rail Protection |
I have already installed the nose and rail guard kit on my board. However, it is not providing as much protection as I would like given the very rocky entry and shoreline of my lake. I would like to apply additional protection to the board that more fully covers the rails and specifically fills in the gaps forward and aft of the Hobie rail guard. Seems like my options are the following: * Completely remove the Hobie rail guard and apply some off the shelf rail tape. * Apply additional rail tape forward and aft the Hobie rail guard to fill in the gaps. * Get another Hobie rail guard kit and cut the rail guard strips to length to fill in the gaps. Any thoughts on this? Is the Hobie rail guard easy to remove? Is there a brand of rail tape that works particularly well with the Eclipse? Any other ideas? Thanks. Ken |
