Hi All, I bought new 2 x Eclipse Dura 12 some 4 weeks ago. After 1 week one caliper broke, 2 more days another caliper broke and now after 2 weeks more all 4 caliper handles are broken. Is that a common issue with the Eclipse? Are there stronger caliper handles to buy? Thank you Ziv from Israel |

Ziv, If they Flip the boards the calipers could be impacted if hitting the ground or beach. If they squeeze both at the same time they can overstress them. These are the likely causes. Contact your dealer or European distributor to get the parts you need. There is no stronger caliper needed. |

Local dealer never heard of this issue (??) and doesn't have any spare parts. What can we do? Ziv |

Ziv, This is not covered by the Warranty. It is miss-use. I can't assist you from the US. Parts would be sourced through Hobie Europe or Hobie Kayak Europe. Whoever your dealer works through. I believe it is HCE. |

Matt, Since the stepper was delivered to my client in it's box and I didn't rig it, could he have rigged it wrong in a way that cause the calipers to brake? 8 calipers broken in 6 weeks and it's miss-use? Is this the first time this issue is brought up? Thank you |

Ziv, My first comment is the explanation. If both are pulled at the same time you can pull hard enough to fail the caliper. Multiple caliper failures is an indication that they do not understand how to use the product. Likely they pull hard on both thinking that will stop the Eclipse from moving forward. |

My one and only time on an Eclipse I so wanted pulling both handles to be brakes as I headed too fast into the side of a dock. I didn't pull hard enough to break the handles I but could see how that might happen. Peter |

If this is the natural instinct to do, pull them both together...than maybe it should have been considered in the engineering. It is highly unreasonable that in a product that costs an arm and a leg, 10 calipers will break in 4 weeks time and it's not even on warranty. |

Ziv, As noted in my first response... contact your dealer and regional distributor for help. |
