I'm looking to change the cargo strap on my compass but the original strap runs through two pad eyes. Do theses eyes unscrew, I don't want to damage them? If so what is the replacement number? I want to do the same strap setup as Steve, SRAces uses. Thanks Dave |

Does the hook not detach from end of bungie so you can unthread it through padeyes. |

The easiest way to do this is to remount your old snap hook on one end of the new bungee, thread the bungee, then install the other snap hook. When the bungee is loose in the hook, it is easy to change the length. In fact, before you give up on your old bungee, you could try cinching the hook up to eliminate any slack (depending on how much stretch you need). ![]() |

Haven't threaded a bungie into one of these hooks, but in the past when i have had to thread a freyable cord though a difficult small eyelet it helped to tie a fishing line to the end and then wrap a bit of electrical insulation tape around the end to provide a taper and preventing freying. Then pulling line and cord through. Maybe a bit harder though a bent fitting though |

I took the factory bungee off and added the ones on each side for holding my Blackpak securely. I did remove the middle small cleats and replaced them with Hobie pad eyes like the ones that the seat hooks to. That way I can connect my camera tether to the middle point on the right side as a safety measure. The waterproof camera sits on a magnetic mount on the top of my telescoping pole. ![]() |
