Post subject:  Rudder Compass question

From some of the videos I’ve seen on YouTube it seems that the rudder cord after releasing it to engage the rudder the cord is out & just kinda hangs loose in the kayak. Is this the case or does it go back in or is there a place for it to hang?

The cord hangs out when the rudder is up and not in use and is short or all the way in when the rudder is deployed, if you have map pockets installed just put the loose end in there when not using the rudder.

Thanks for the feedback on this, sorta odd it just hangs loose with no place to hang, planning on adding the pockets so shouldn’t be an issue.

The skeg and rudder pull cords on the Pro Angler just hang loose as well. Just the way they designed it. The side pockets does provide a good storage spot for the cord for when you have the rudder up. I have noticed that if you feel the steering is a little too loose or sloppy, just pull/latch the rudder cord out a little bit (maybe an inch) when deployed and it adds a little tension to the steering. :o
