Post subject:  Compass with 180
I really want the compass as it is lighter and fits my needs better compared to the Outback.
My issue is fishing I need the 180 Mirage drive..reverse. New it looks like about $800 range with compass at about $1900 from Ack.
Will the new model come with the 180? I could go with the outback but the weight diff is an issue for me.

The difference between a fully rigger Compass weight of 87 pounds Vs the Outback of 99 pounds seems to be not that much of a deal breaker.
I am an older guy and never had any issue loading my 2010 Outback on to the roof rack of my Subaru Outback.

Now, comparing it to my current 2013 PA-14, that is a different issue that I solved with a Hobie Trailex trailer :wink:

You can always sell the Compass GT Drive to offset part of the cost of the MD 180. 8)

Why not just buy a compass with 180 drive upgrade? I got mine from Mariner sails out of dallas with it. The upgrade amount isn’t much, and they don’t charge your for standard drive. They will ship anywhere as well. Their customer services can’t be beaten. Call and ask for Adrian Acosta. He will fix you up.
