Dealer installed Hobie side pockets when I arrived home noticed rudder deploy rope catching on sharp screws 4 ea on lower screws from pocket. These are original mounting hardware from Hobie kit, Hobie dealer never noticed flaw. Please note this can cause rudder to jam or not deploy even cut rope. Went to Lowe’s and purchased Stainless 8-32 1/2 inch length $1.99 (factory are 3/4 inch) screws and filed down sharp tip and these worked perfect. |
