Replying to my own question here...
I emailed Hobie and heard back from Howie Strech. He said this storage method should be fine as long as I used 2" straps.

I'm looking at storing two Compasses - stacked - in a Harken Hoist with 145lb lifting capacity. Both yaks would be sitting hull-up with the one inch web straps of the hoist contacting the gunnels of the bottom yak. Looking for advice from Hobie rep on this setup. Thanks in advance! |
