Earlier in the year I posted a topic with the Hobie Vertical Hatch Kit install on a Compass. Today I want to share some pictures with the 2019+ EVA Standing Pads installed. It's a decent fit where one would need to do some modifications to the right standing pad to compensate for the cup holder. Total cost is relatively cheap, costing about $9.95 per pad. Fitment is not perfect but good enough! Standing feels much better. Feel free to ask any questions here or PM me. ![]() ![]() |

New Compass owner here and I am considering hatch upgrade. Have not had it on the water yet, cant wait till spring. I like the vertical hatch with standing pads - horizontal hatch seems to be more in the way when standing. Is standing more comfortable with the round hatch on the deck? It seems there is more flat deck to allow shifting stance without standing on the hatch. I would think standing on the hatch is awkward? Any thoughts? |

I can't compare for those who have a deck mat installed on their compass. Maybe someone with a deck mat can chime in and comment here? I have no idea if the deck mat would make the area flush or not. captain weeds wrote: It seems there is more flat deck to allow shifting stance without standing on the hatch. You will most likely touch the hatch with your feet in some way while standing. There just isn't that much moving space in the area to begin with. I do want to mention that with these standing pads is that it DAMPEN the sounds while also providing a lot of GRIP. captain weeds wrote: I would think standing on the hatch is awkward? Any thoughts? It definitely is less awkward than my previous setup. I just want to let you know that even with the EVA standing pads, it isn't going to be completely flush like how it would be on the 2019+ Outbacks. |

FWIW, I waited it out until Hobie finally release the vertical hatch kit before I upgraded from the stock circle hatch and I'm glad I did! It is so awesome being able to just keep your feet on the standing pads while opening the hatch. |

captain weeds wrote: You never posted where you purchased the pads? The pads are the same pads used on the Outback. They're designed to butt up against the hatch on either side, with the edge of the hatch covered by the pads. You can order the rectangular hatch (part number 77701801) as well as the pads from your Hobie dealer. To find your local dealer: https://www.hobie.com/dealers/ Here's the part numbers for the different pads: 777024 LEFT 777022 CAMO LEFT 777023 RIGHT 777021 CAMO RIGHT. Here's a diagram showing how the hatch is used in conjunction with the pads: https://media.hobie.com/digital_assets/ ... 4y7osp.PDF Hope this helps! |
