I have a pair of 2019 Compass with sail kits. While sailing on Saturday, had installed the mast and looked down and the plug where the mast base goes into the hull was coming out. was able to unscrew it at home. Do I need some sort of sealant to re-seal this or is this a known issue? - Keith |

Not normal. No sealant, but maybe if it will help hold it. The inside of the receiver has a large slot for a slotted screwdriver. Do you have a fuller? Maybe spin the mast in the tightening direction when furling. Also, sheet out more to reduce tension/friction while furling. |

Thanks Matt. Will give that a try and experiment. I will double check the tapped threads in the hull to make sure that they haven't been stripped. It rose about an inch. Quickly turned into the wind to furl the sail and tied off the sheet. pedaled back and called it a day. -Keith |

ok. took a long flat-head screwdriver and screwed the fitting back into the hull. noticed that the fitting has a lot of wobble in it after it is screwed down. Probably what is causing the fitting to back out as the mast would flex back and forth during sailing. Don't really want to 5200 it. Might try some water tight silicone first and see if it resolves the issue. -Keith |

Look inside and be sure the base is over the fitting inside the hull. |
