A dealer would do that work. It is fairly simple. Requires a 1/8" ball-end Allen wrench. Two bolts in each click and go. Loosen a and remove. Replace, position and then tighten again.

My brand new Hobie Compass kayak has a problem. I purchased 2 and only one has this problem. I cannot get the drive out of the kayak. I have pushed the locks into the correct position, toward the back of the kayak, and have pulled and pulled the drive, but it won't come out. It came out earlier and I inserted the drive in the water. Upon returning from an hour of kayaking, I could not get the drive out in the water nor on the stands on which I rest it when out of the water. What do I need to do? |

Check the fin rotation? If the fins are rotated at all, the booms may hang up on the bottom of the boat. Odd otherwise. Maybe the alignment pins are under the click and go somehow... Went in easily? |

The fins are not rotated. And yes the drive went in easily. The 2nd kayak has no problems with insertion and removal of the drive. What should we do? |

The warranty department has adjustable click and goes. I believe you have filed a claim? Working on that. These would allow the click and goes to be adjusted outboards slightly. |

It appears that they are too close together. Possible that the well is slightly narrow and the standard click and go is pinching the drive somehow. Moving them outboard a bit would fix that possibility. Roto molding is not an exact science and boats/molds vary and different colors shrink differently and differently in different weather, so the adjustable click and go would fix that. |

I'm curious about how this would work as my seller is in Delaware and our kayaks are in NC. We had them shipped to us as we could not find a Hobie kayak available in our state. Were the parts mailed to us or our dealer? |

A claim by that dealer would hopefully include your local address for parts. You could ask a local dealer to do the job under warranty. Dealers are supposed to service all products. |

Would Hobie or my dealer would be responsible to locate a dealer near me and make the appropriate arrangements , especially after the money I paid for this brand new kayak and incredible shipping charges. I don't believe this is my responsibility. What if I cannot find such a dealer? |

We can not arrange service from our factory. That is up to dealers. |
