| Post subject: | 2022 Compass - Vertical Rectangular Hatch Doesn’t Fit. |
I just purchased a 2022 compass, and bought the vertical rectangular hatch, and it doesn’t appear to fit vertically. The new seat goes over the scupper holes. If you put it vertically, you wouldn’t be able to open the hatch due to the seat. Is there any issues installing the vertical hatch horizontally? Will the bucket still fit if the hatch is installed vertically? Is there a new hatch for the 2022 models? |

Order a Horizontal hatch instead - deep bucket is not guaranteed to fit - sometimes they do - but times they are tight - there is an aftermarket bucket that fits - search the user groups on FB or talk to your dealer - Burley Pro I think makes a solution. See this memo sent out to our dealers regarding this topic here: Hobie Dealer Bulletin Compatibility Issue – Vertical Rectangular Hatch on 2022 MY Compass Kayaks Since the seat change went into effect on 2022 MY Compass kayaks, the Vertical Rectangular Hatch Kit (pn 77701801) is no longer compatible. Good news is the Horizontal Rectangular Hatch kit (pn 71707003) is still compatible. Fit of the rectangular gear bucket remains inconsistent.
