Does anyone know whether the shift wire inside MD 180 spine can be replaced. Forward fin will not rotate with snapped wire/cord.

If you can find the string. I'm sure you can replace it. Although I can imagine it being very tedious. I just bought a second hand 2018MDOutback. it had the same issue (no rev). I took it apart and cleaned it very well. I ended up finding a piston type lock for the 180 spools(???) I took a small pick to push it in while cleaning it, causing the drive to work once again. Apparently, it was jammed with gunk. Ie... like reels, don't pressure wash your drives lol |
