What tools are essential "on the water"?

Post subject:  What tools are essential "on the water"?
This is all new to me. I have a 2020 Mirage Compass with about a 2011 Mirage Drive. I'll be on Lake Mohave near here almost exclusively.Safety and comfort essentials i have covered but what should I be carrying in the way of tools? So far I'm thinking Phillips head screwdriver, adjustable wrench and zip ties. What else should I always be carrying in my tool kit?

Doesn't anyone carry a repair kit with them in case something breaks out there?

Keep a paddle leashed to that hull with such an antique fin drive. Maybe replacement fins. I carried and used a long shoelace to stabilize the latch hardware erratically holding the drive in place. Always leashed the drive to the hull too.

Thank you for the reply. Leashing the paddle was one of the very first things I did. As for the old drive, it failed at the very first pedal stroke Sunday. Not repairable in any dependable way. After he talked with Hobie's people, Justin at Southwest Outfitters offered me a brand new basic drive with kick up fins but no 180 for $300. I jumped at it. I feel he's really working hard to make me a loyal customer.

Does having a brand new drive change what I should carry for emergency repairs?

That is an excellent drive, reliable due to it's comparative simplicity. Normally you might want a tool to adjust fin tensions but I don't think the new fins are adjustable. Maybe your screwdriver should fit your steering fittings. Not so much a tool, but I find a length of thin rope useful for various eventualities. Also I carry a small compass for fog, but maybe phones do that.

Thank you. I do have a compass on my phone but I rely on the compass built into my Casio solar g-shock watch most of the time. It's Waterproof.i have a couple of different ropes I'll be carrying, one for the anchor and a longer, stronger one for towing but I'll make sure to get a thinner one too.
